An invited essay,「研究者としての人生観」, appeared in the January 2007 issue of IEICE Journal（電子情報通信学会誌）pp. 13-15. I tell the younger generation from my own experience that there is a very short period in our professional life when we can really devote our time and energy to pursue research projects of our choice. As the proverb goes, “Art is long, life is short” or 「少年易老学難成」。
